The BioSys Set 4 comprises the Biotec 18 Screenmatic (a large flow-through filter which uses a combination of biological and mechanical filtration to guarantee clear and healthy water), a Bitron 55C UVC Clarifier, and an Aquamax Eco 16,000 filter pump.

System Summary:

The Aquamax Eco 16,000 pumps water from the pond, past the 55W UV bulb in the Bitron 55 (which flocculates the algae so it can be removed from the water).  It then sprays onto a fine mesh screen where any debris is collected, and flows through a series of foams before returning to the pond.  The screen rotates periodically (every 30 minutes) and is scraped  clean by a blade, ensuring the screen is never allowed to clog.  Any debris then builds up in the collection tray which is easily accessible at cleaning time.

Features:

• Minimal maintenance - any debris suspended in the water is removed before it reaches the foams, ensuring the long-life of the foams and reducing the amount of physical work involved in cleaning the filter.  The collection tray is simply lifted out, rinsed clean, and returned to the filter - a two minute job!
• The screen section pivots up to 90° to allow easy access to the filter media during maintenance.
• A cleaning handle is provided which can be used to compress the sponges if they become dirty - no need to remove the sponges from the filter or rummage elbow-deep in cold water!
• A dial positioned in the lid allows the flow to be regulated during cleaning.
• The sludge drain with slide valave simplifies removal of debris from the filter.
• Filter can be buried up to ⅔ of it's height and can therefore be integrated unobtrusively into the landscaping of the pond area.
